Day 3 (23 May 13)

Day 1  (21 May 13)

I had abdominal pain on 15 may and assumed will have my menses soon but I only had a red spotting on 17 May. So I thought I will get my menses soon so we were planning to fly on 19 May for Day 2/3 procedure for IVF. But unfortunately, there were no signs of menses rather than just having  very little brownish discharge. So we thought better to wait for proper menses and then arrange for flight & accommodation. Waited and waited, I feel like having menses flow on 21 May about 4pm and I quickly rushed back home to make an appointment for Day 3 which I think it's more convenient.

Then the whole day my menses stopped and that's make me wonder what's happening for my cycle this month. Is that could be because of the Woman Labata (biodex) that I started taking recently? We have booked for flight ticket and put on hold just in case. I decided to take UPT early morning to confirm whether I could be pregnant then only decide on our travel plan. I couldn't sleep the whole night and keep thinking about my menses and pregnancy. So I got up very early on 22 May and did UPT. This time I bought Clear Blue Digital UPT just to be very accurate. Even though I expected the results would be negative but deep down I was hoping for some miracle! ;)

Test shows 'Not Pregnant'!

I Whatsup Dr Raben to ask whether is that could be the effect of the scope i did recently but he assured its not due to that and he said the Dr will do the scanning during my appointment on 23 May and advised me to run UPT but I told him I have done one and its shows negative

23 May 13
Arrived at HKL at 7.20am but I saw more early birds already waiting for their turn in the clinic. After waited for an hour and half, we met Dr Erda and she did the scanning. I told her about my menstrual situation while she scanning to check for follicles.  There was 6 follicles on the right and another 6 on the left. She then informed Dr Kannappan about my unstable menses and he advised me to do UPT at the clinic itself. He is so graceful and calm.

Again I was hoping for miracle to happen but test result shows negative. We returned back to clinic and nurse advised us to do blood test to check for LH, estradiol & Progesterone level. She advised us to go to Lablink opposite Tawakal Hospital and bring back the results for further advise. We brought cooler box but without dry ice so we went to HUKM Hospital pharmacy to get one but there is none for sale. Thank god the aunty gave us 2 packets for free. So we went to hotel to store the dry ice and proceed
 to Lablink.

We gotta wait for 2 hours for the results so we went to have our early lunch. Found a Borneo restaurant which sells only Laksa Saarawak & Kolo mee so as usual I ordered my favorite Laksa!

We returned back to hospital at 12 pm and collected the results and rush back to hospital. I am happy to see the test range shows all ok and been thinking about the ivf procedure which can starts today. But the nurse told me my LH and progesterone are higher than the range therefore they might need to put me on 'cross over procedure' and we need to see Dr again. 'What?' My heart shrink to hear the unexpected news! The Day2 blood results I did in March 13 was all ok so I never expect such thing happened. What went wrong in 2 months? Whatever it is, we can't predict what will happen next during IVF procedure.

Since its a lunch time and furthermore, Dr has occupied with many cases like IUI, egg collection & embryo transfer for the day so the nurse asked us to come back at 2pm.

We went back to clinic at 2pm and met with Dr Erda. She called Dr Kannappan and reconfirmed about the cross over procedure. Dr Erda told us that I gotto take Yaz tablets or 24 days until 9th June and starts taking Suprefact injection from 9th June onwards until egg collection. Yaz is a birth control pill. This cross over procedure is to stabilize my hormones  which produce by pituitary gland.  Dr Kannappan entered while dr Erda explaining and he said 'its like building a house. The foundation must be good before building the house. So as when we transfer the embryo inside uterus. Otherwise, there is a chance of miscarriage.
His words are so convincing and encouraging.  We went to pharmacy to get Yaz tablets and bought Suprefact and returned back to clinic to learn how to do the injection.

Hysterescopy (11 May 2013)

6 May 2013

While we were thinking where and when to do Hysterescopy, receive a massage from Dr saying the Hysterescopy has been confirmed on 11 May 2013. Thank god! We really indebted to Dr Raben for helping us to arrange everything from the beginning. Now my worries are how the procedure will be done and how am I gonna mentally prepared for that.

While waiting for 11 May, I surfed the net for some blog which could describe the real experience on Hysterescopy. I found a very good blog by one of the TTCian and it was indeed very helpful. I hope there won't be any fibroid or polyp. Or any D&C need to be done.

11 May 2013

We woke up early on the day and I should be fasting about 6 hours at least before the procedure. So my last meal was my favorite muesli again. I don't want to take something heavy which will make my stomach bloated and full stomach could make me vomit after the procedure. Dr said it will be a day care procedure so we booked a hotel to stay overnight to rest before driving back home.

11:00am~ registration done.

11:30~ blood test test and i was asked to change cloths. The needle was inserted on my hand for later use. I don't feel the pain anymore as I used to it by now. This is nothing compare to the scope will be done later right?

Hubby went out with Dr for lunch and I stay inside the 1st class ward reserved by Dr. Dr told me it will be a spinal injection for the anesthesia which will make me to aware what's happening and I told him I don't want to know what's happening and wanna fully knocked  out. So then, he said he will inform the team accordingly. I have read mostly the scope done under GA so I opt for the same too. Nurse came and fix the drip for 11:30am~4:30pm but she forgot to adjust the level so it finished fast just in 30mins. I called a nurse and she fixed me another drip but this time with slow moving flow.

I keep going in and out of the washroom just to make my bladder empty. I couldn't sleep and I become restless thinking so many thing. Finally I managed to keep calm and in resting mood.

2:30pm~ nurses came and brought me to operation theatre and all my medical details were verified and am ready to go in at 3:05pm. I reconfirmed the nurse that I prefer General Anestheshia. She said with GA, I will have sore throat all. I said its better than being aware during the scope even though the spinal injection would numb half of the body part. She just laughed.

3:10pm- The only think I remember was when Dr asked me to inhale after the fixed the oxygen mask. When I try to inhale, I still can hear the surroundings and as usual my mind wonders again. After a while, I don't remember anything what happend.

4:30pm- I heard my name was called loudly and I start to open my eyes but I feel so difficult to do so and having headache. They put a warmer on my body as I was freezing cold inside. The blood pressure was automatically detected frequently and now am ready to leave the operation theatre. I saw my hubby was waiting outside the OT room for me. I gave him a big smile. They transferred me to the ward for 2 hours rest and I can go back if there is no heavy bleeding. I feel absolutely fine. I feel a slight pain on my left side and far a while its gone. Not much of a bleeding as well. I feel so relief.

My hubby told me that the anesthesia Dr told my surgeon that I was fighting to the normal dosage and keep being conscious, therefore he has to give me higher dosage which is applicable for 100kg weight patient. I understand why...? My mind is restless all the time and that's could be the reason.

Dr Chin came and gave me Paracetamol to bear the pain just in case and he told me my uterus is fine and there is no fibroid or polyp. I feel so happy and thank him. I told him I feel alright and asked him to discharge as soon as he can. He said he wil confirm with my surgeon.

6:30pm- I am ready to go back. I was very hungry and can't wait to have my dinner.

IVF Appointment (Mar & Apr 2013)

After a long break, we decided to contact Dr again regarding our IVF appointment.

21 Mar 2011
Our appointment with Dr has been fixed on 29 April 2013 at 10.00am. Thanks a lot for Dr Raben for arranging the appointment. Dr advised me to do hormonal blood test for FSH/LH, serum estradiol, proactin, Tyriod together with VDRL, HIV & hepatitis test on my 2nd day of menses. Hubby need to do semen analysis together with estradiol, VDRL, HIV & Hepatitis.

23 Mar 13
2nd day of menses. We did hormonal blood test with our panel clinic, Dr Haris. Hubby  wants to change his diet first before proceed to do semen test so he awaits little longer.

12 Apr 13
Endoscopy was done to check for bacteria or acid has effected me since I been having lotsa burp, and heart burn for past years. We decided to diagnosis for my stomach first before deciding to continue for IVF treatment. Thank god there is no bacteria but was diagnosis with GERD.

After come back from hospital, We arranged for our flight ticket and hotel accommodation for our IVF appointment on 29 Apr. We booked nearby hotel so that it will be a walking distance to Hospital.

29 April 2013
We met Dr Erda and she asked me all the treatment we went through so far and she checked our medical report and said "I don't see any problem here". Hubby was so worried since his reading has been tremendously change within 2 yrs. But thank god Dr said nothing to worry. Dr did ultrasound to check my follicles and said everything seems ok and she advised us to do Hysterescopy to check the lining of the uterus.   So our IVF procedure will be scheduled coming month during my Day2 menses. She gave us a referral letter to Dr Raben and to prescribe multivitamin Surbex for both of us. Dr Raben already advised us to take Centrum Wyeth multivitamin, Tribestan (male only), vitamin C & folic acid. So we proceed to Caring Pharmacy to buy Surbex. We whatsup Dr Raben regarding Hysterescopy but unfortunately he was away and the coming slots for OT room are fully occupied until 22 May 13. What shall we do now? I might get my next menses by that time and this test should be prior to my next menses. Worst case scenario, we have to postpone our IVF treatment to June procedure.

Preparation before IVF treatment:~
1. BIODEX pregnancy product
start taking it since March 2013. Read through about this product from one of the TTCian blog.

2. BRANDS prune & berry drinks.

3. Honey & Almonds.

I like to eat it as snacks since am avoiding the junk foods.

4. Change to diet meal. I am avoiding carbs meal. Say NO to rice! I read it somewhere that carbs change to sugar and that's not good for TTCian.

My day starts with muesli added with soy milk since milk should be avoided for GERD.
