Day 1 (21 May 13)
I had abdominal pain on 15 may and assumed will have my menses soon but I only had a red spotting on 17 May. So I thought I will get my menses soon so we were planning to fly on 19 May for Day 2/3 procedure for IVF. But unfortunately, there were no signs of menses rather than just having very little brownish discharge. So we thought better to wait for proper menses and then arrange for flight & accommodation. Waited and waited, I feel like having menses flow on 21 May about 4pm and I quickly rushed back home to make an appointment for Day 3 which I think it's more convenient.
Then the whole day my menses stopped and that's make me wonder what's happening for my cycle this month. Is that could be because of the Woman Labata (biodex) that I started taking recently? We have booked for flight ticket and put on hold just in case. I decided to take UPT early morning to confirm whether I could be pregnant then only decide on our travel plan. I couldn't sleep the whole night and keep thinking about my menses and pregnancy. So I got up very early on 22 May and did UPT. This time I bought Clear Blue Digital UPT just to be very accurate. Even though I expected the results would be negative but deep down I was hoping for some miracle! ;)
Test shows 'Not Pregnant'!
I Whatsup Dr Raben to ask whether is that could be the effect of the scope i did recently but he assured its not due to that and he said the Dr will do the scanning during my appointment on 23 May and advised me to run UPT but I told him I have done one and its shows negative
23 May 13
Arrived at HKL at 7.20am but I saw more early birds already waiting for their turn in the clinic. After waited for an hour and half, we met Dr Erda and she did the scanning. I told her about my menstrual situation while she scanning to check for follicles. There was 6 follicles on the right and another 6 on the left. She then informed Dr Kannappan about my unstable menses and he advised me to do UPT at the clinic itself. He is so graceful and calm.
Again I was hoping for miracle to happen but test result shows negative. We returned back to clinic and nurse advised us to do blood test to check for LH, estradiol & Progesterone level. She advised us to go to Lablink opposite Tawakal Hospital and bring back the results for further advise. We brought cooler box but without dry ice so we went to HUKM Hospital pharmacy to get one but there is none for sale. Thank god the aunty gave us 2 packets for free. So we went to hotel to store the dry ice and proceed
to Lablink.
to Lablink.
We gotta wait for 2 hours for the results so we went to have our early lunch. Found a Borneo restaurant which sells only Laksa Saarawak & Kolo mee so as usual I ordered my favorite Laksa!
We returned back to hospital at 12 pm and collected the results and rush back to hospital. I am happy to see the test range shows all ok and been thinking about the ivf procedure which can starts today. But the nurse told me my LH and progesterone are higher than the range therefore they might need to put me on 'cross over procedure' and we need to see Dr again. 'What?' My heart shrink to hear the unexpected news! The Day2 blood results I did in March 13 was all ok so I never expect such thing happened. What went wrong in 2 months? Whatever it is, we can't predict what will happen next during IVF procedure.
Since its a lunch time and furthermore, Dr has occupied with many cases like IUI, egg collection & embryo transfer for the day so the nurse asked us to come back at 2pm.
We went back to clinic at 2pm and met with Dr Erda. She called Dr Kannappan and reconfirmed about the cross over procedure. Dr Erda told us that I gotto take Yaz tablets or 24 days until 9th June and starts taking Suprefact injection from 9th June onwards until egg collection. Yaz is a birth control pill. This cross over procedure is to stabilize my hormones which produce by pituitary gland. Dr Kannappan entered while dr Erda explaining and he said 'its like building a house. The foundation must be good before building the house. So as when we transfer the embryo inside uterus. Otherwise, there is a chance of miscarriage.
His words are so convincing and encouraging. We went to pharmacy to get Yaz tablets and bought Suprefact and returned back to clinic to learn how to do the injection.
